This one stopped me mid-walk — the bronze Tejas Warrior draws his bow beneath the soaring oculus at the entrance of the Hall of State in Dallas, Texas, flanked by fluted columns that seem to disappear into the light above.
Built for the 1936 Texas Centennial Exposition at Fair Park, the Hall of State is considered one of the finest Art Deco buildings in the country, and the mosaic-tiled walls and monumental scale here really show why. Editing it in black and white let the contrast between the weathered stone and polished bronze do the talking. Would make a striking statement piece for a study, entryway, or any space with a bold, architectural sensibility.
